Enerkraft was part of the consortium that developed one of India’s early solar canal-top power projects in the state of Rajasthan, marking a significant step in advancement of innovative renewable energy deployment by enabling the efficient utilization of canal infrastructure for solar power generation. The project was awarded by the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited and implemented under a tripartite agreement involving the State Irrigation Department and the State DISCOMs for power offtake.
Impact
- The project reduced water evaporation, conserving over 18 million liters annually, which can be effectively used for agricultural irrigation.
- It optimized land use by eliminating the need for additional land acquisition, thereby minimizing disruption to local flora, fauna, and agricultural activities.
